So I wanted to try and find a red that would work for Christmas time but red can be a very intimidating colour when it comes to lipstick.
I spotted a lot of pictures on the net with girls rocking MAC's Ruby Woo though so I thought I would give it a go too.
I really like it. It goes on matte - so watch out for it sticking to dry bits - I used my MAC Lip Conditioner underneath it so it applied nicely. I should also mention that I applied using a brush and built up the colour. It felt safer although I am not sure that I will do that next time. Was a pain!
What do you think??
Also, I dyed my hair using L'oreal's sublime mousse - got to say that I wasn't that impressed but the colour can be seen above.
Hmmm

Blessedly Rich Lipglass Orange Tempera Lipglass |
I don't know why but I am presently loving MAC Lipglasses.
I hadn't really been into them before - I am more of a lipstick girl really because I hate the whole hair stuck to my lipgloss look but having rediscovered some previous purchases and also recently purchasing the beautiful Hey Sailor Orange Tempera I am hooked!!!
What I love is that just like their lipsticks, MAC's colours are great and strong, you don't need to add 50 layers just to get the deep shade you want.
They also look really good over your lipsticks and alone, and as you can see above - fab for mixing together!
I predict more future purchases!!

I picked up four items from this collection (all for lips!) when it came out and thought I'd share with you two of them.
On top is the Suntint in Au Rose with SPF 20. On the bottom is the Lipstick in To Catch a Sailor. I love that name ;)
Anyway, I guess you want to know how I got on with them?
Suntint - first thing to say is far.to.sticky. I'm afraid this is just not great for me. I am so disappointed, this should have been the perfect summer tinted lipbalm, instead it's just a sticky layer on the lips and unfortunately I actually found it to be drying so not a recommendation from me. The one thing I would say is that the tint is nice though.
Lipstick - this is a shimmery gold shade and I promise I will do some proper on the lips photos of it soon. In the meantime I would say that I like this. The texture is good, buildable, doesn't sit in the lines in your lips or run and has a nice strong tone to it. Steer clear if you don't like shimmery finishes though as this is slightly frosted. Which I know some people are offended by.
So Suntint no Lipstick yes.
Any of you tried these items from the Hey Sailor MAC collection?< /center>

So for the first time in a while I absolutely adore the most recent limited collection from MAC.
I don't know what it is, but a combination of the packaging, the colours and the products available just seem to tick all the boxes for me! It's just so cute.
I absolutely love the nautical packaging and don't want to throw it out!
The colours are a mixture of brights and nudes, but exciting nudes if you know what I mean. They have an orangey tone, or gold tone or something to make them a little more exciting.
I do actually really like MAC lip glasses but I only have 2! One is the Viva Glam Cyndi one and the other is a bronzy gold. Neither of them get out much due to the vibrancy of the colour and the impact that could have on my clients! So I went for this muted colour to wear alone or with my now many MAC Lipsticks.
I wasn't disappointed. It's a lovely texture and shine - it feels smooth and moisturising rather than gooey and sticky on the lips.
The horrendous facial expression picture above is me with it on. Very muted.
Result.
Anyone else wearing any of the Hey Sailor range!?

Ok ladies, so I apologise in advance at these ridiculously posed pictures of me - especially at this late hour but it's been a while since a lipstick has made me instantly want to put the rollers in, get the legs out and hit the town.
I have been wanting a wearable dark lipstick for a while. I tried a couple of Rimmel ones, but just couldn't get used to the colours on me. So what did I do? Bought some at MAC of course!
I picked MAC's creamsheen formula lipstick up in Hang Up from Kendals in Manchester (House of Fraser). I'll be honest - I bought this a little while ago, but had never really had a play with it until tonight, when before I knew it I had filled my photo booth on the macbook with lots of posey pictures of me with dark lipstick on in my messy room (it's not normally like that I promise)...
I did take some others on my actual camera, but the colour was just so different in the photo to real life I gave up and stuck with these more accurate reflections.
Although we are moving towards summer (i know - what summer) and colours should probably be lighter, I seriously love this colour and will be sporting it on my next night out (just need an outfit to match).
Aside from the RIDICulous pose what do you think ladies? Would any of you wear this?

Just before Christmas I purchased some new MAC lipsticks for all the parties etc. I asked for a creamy muted red shade and don't believe that I came away with that colour I had in mind but my description obviously wasn't that great. And despite that, I did like these colours when I gave them a quick swatch with the MUA.
The top colour, Cosmo, I like. I think it is a good colour for mixing and will look nice for lots of different occasions.
I am not completely sold on Hang Up though. I just hate how it applies on my lips. It looks darker than the swatch below if you apply it heavily, but I just can't because it ends up bleeding everywhere even when I put liner on. I just cannot get it to work for me! The bottom look is from applying with a lip brush. I'm not massively keen. Plus I think I will be too worried to wear it out of the house on the basis that it will no doubt end up all over my face!
What do you think ladies? Do any of you own these?
Definitely need to work on Hang Up more to try and get what I wanted out of it!
Have a great Saturday lovelies! x

So no doubt like many of you ladies out there I have recently been pretty excited to actually feel enthusiastic about a Limited Edition Collection. The more recent ones really haven't done it for me so I was really pleased when this collection came out because it is just so pretty.
So I trotted off to MAC at the first opportunity I got and had my eye on a couple of pieces which I thought would be nice to get. Sadly (or happily for my bank account) they were sold out! Gone without a trace! So I could only pick up one thing from the collection which was one of their lipsticks in What Joy!
Firstly, can I just say - what a cute name!! I love it when the name of a shade is as cute as that. For some reason it makes me like a product so much more. The lipstick comes in a white outer case and is packaged in a silver box which really adds to the wintery theme. Such a novelty given MAC's usually matte black packaging. I really like it. Plus, if you haven't yet seen the collection you must go and look at it - everything is white and glittery with some of the eyeshadow palettes having a sort of snow globe on the front. Divine.
In terms of application the lipstick glides on seamlessly but I must say I was expecting it to be darker. It looks very dark before applying but goes on much lighter. I think you could build the colour up though as I applied a little and was conscious that I didn't want it smudging. I think for ordinary use I will apply with a lip brush. Anyway, enough description - I'm guessing you want a proper look at how it looks on!
I love a good strong lip colour in winter and this does not disappoint. I absolutely love this colour and think not only is it good on it's own, but also it is a really good colour to mix with nudes if you want to tone down in the day.
They retail at £14 and the best part of all that I haven't mentioned until now is that it literally smells like chocolate. Honestly, you should have seen my excitement before when I applied and was like omg CHOCOLATE SMELLS yummy!
What do you think girlies? Do you like??
Have any of you picked up any of the new collection or grabbed yourself this lipstick?

So this is the second time I have tried to post this thanks to bloggers amazing skills at losing posts... Annoying.com
Anyway. I also purchased this beautiful lippie on Friday for work. I wanted a nice nude shade that wasn't too OTT and I could wear all year around.
I think I found it. I purchased without trying it on my actual lips, but did swatch it in store. I was happy because it was pink rather than nude nude so felt it wouldn't wash the skin out too much!!
Here's what it looks like on...
I'm really happy with this colour. It's the perfect muted lippie. I think it works well for work, but also if going out with heavy eyemakeup.
What do you think?? Any of you ladies own this colour?

Hi Ladies,
Ooo I love a new purchase don't you?
So Friday went a little bit like this.
"Hi MAC MUA, I want to buy a lipstick."
"Ok, what exactly are you looking for?" She replied
Me "Anything, I just have the urge. Something bright. In fact, what are you wearing - that's nice."
She was wearing the Viva Glam Cyndi Lipglass which I purchased because it's such a pretty colour and I guessed it would look nice on most skin tones (mine included) and would be good for nights out.
I was right.
Such a pretty colour - I love it! I'm not normally a gloss wearer as I HATE hair stuck on lipgloss which always happens when I wear them! But it's worth it for this colour.
It's definitely got me in the mood to buy more glosses from MAC now. This one is so long lasting and so pigmented.
What do you think?

After last year's buzz surrounding Gaga and Viva Glam I am not surprised MAC are doing a second one with her.
But wait, no! What happened to last years divine marketing pictures and the pretty pink lippie!? I mean I know of course they aren't going to do the same colour, otherwise there would be no point brining out a Gaga II. That said, this colour just does not provide me with the same excitement at all. And I am really not keen on this whole look Gaga is rocking. I mean I love Gaga as much as the next person but seriously, the phrase "Dead behind the eyes" springs to mind! I much preferred the pretty, girlie, frolicking in pink look of last year...

What about you? Do you love it or do you feel a little indifferent towards it like me?? I don't know if it's just because I loved last years so much or whether this really is a bit too bland.
I don't know, maybe I will have a nosey at some point, but I think this year I will be waiting to see it on some other bloggers first...

I have lots of mascaras in my makeup drawer. I mean a SHEDload. And this is one of them.
Most of us love a good MAC product but I never really notice their mascaras when I head to a store (I am too busy swatching all the fabulous lippies!).
Anyway, I received this as part of a gift at Christmas and I have been meaning to review it since then. It retails for £13.50 normally.
MAC says that this instant volume mascara power-lifts the lashes into length, curls them up...builds them faster than you can wink!

My personal experience with the product left me feeling a little cold. This mascara is OK. For the price it delivers enough length to keep me happy, but I wouldn't look to repurchase. My problem is that it just doesn't wow me. I have other mascaras that make my lashes look fuller as well as long and this mascara just provides me with some length.
Overall I still think it is a reasonable product for the price, but if you are a bit lacking in the eyelashes department like me you will probably want fuller lashes and therefore a mascara with a little more oomph!

Hey lovely ladies!!!
Yes I know - most of you will already have this foundation - but it is my first time purchasing it so naturally I had to review!!!
I LOVE it. It is the perfect coverage and makes my skin look flawless. Also, another bonus - it lasts ALL day for me (even without powder to set) Yay.
I use shade NC30 which is the perfect tone for my skin and blends perfectly with my neck. Any darker and I would look RIDIC-U-LOUS. Any lighter and my skin looks a bit Twilighesque - you know death like pale (having said that - them vampires are just so stunning, shame I can't pull it off - haha)
Anyhooooooooo - here is what it looks like on with flash:-
I am loving this foundation. It is so so good and perfect for all the xmas do's coming up.
But alas! There is one flaw - its really drying on my skin. Anyone else have this problem??
Please tell me your secret moisturiser/primer remedies for prevention of dry flaky patches when using this foundation?????
Thank you xxxxxxxx

Recently I went to MAC with the intention of purchasing this foundation if, after trying it, I liked it. The MUA was one step ahead of me and suggested I take a sample home to really get a feel for it.
I was pretty happy about this as normally I feel a little intimidated when I go to MAC - it's just so busy and you literally have to fight past all these glamazons to swatch a lippie. Hence why I normally don't bother! I was on a mission this day though and the lovely girl handed me the shade NC25 after I said that my skin was quite light and that most colours I choose ended up being too dark and orangey. It was a guess by her rather than a colour match but I think the shade is pretty decent - a little light if anything.
So off I went and tried it the very next day. I'm not going to lie the coverage of this made my skin look heavenly. Smooth and flawless. It's very buildable so I was able to hide blemishes (except dark circles).
Here are some pic's of me using the foundation (and just to clarify - I was not driving when taking the pic - I was sat on my drive about to set off and checking my makeup! hehe)
Intense stare times...

I know that my makeup is pretty basic on the car pic but this was just to show how matte and flawless my skin looks.
What I did find though was that in certain artificial lights it can look a bit heavy. Also, it started making my skin dryer and I noticed flaky patches appearing. This is a real shame because apart from that this foundation is perfect. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and resolved it?
I think given that it's £19 (one of the less expensive brands in selfridges) I will purchase this, but I'd restrict the use to nights out so as not to ruin my skin in these winter months.
One thing is for sure though I would definitely recommend it and can definitely see why it is so popular having now tried it.

...were the words the craazeeeey makeup man shouted in MAC Times Square after I had purchased the Viva La Glam Lippie in Gaga. This was followed by an APPLAUSE from all the staff and lot's of "wooing"!
(Another good NYC holiday memory :D )
Yes. I loved it. My poor boyfy could only say
"why did they do that"
in whispered tones as we left to which I responded
"I don't really know but I love it"
haha!!
♥I love being the centre of attention at the best of times♥.
It made for a nice shopping experience anyway. Better than just whacking it in a bag!!
