Here is my hair after use of the Split Remedy Range. This is a near miracle - my hair won't tame for anyone at the moment and the fact that it is actually falling down rather than frizzing left, right and centre shows that this product works for me.
Apologies for the lack of face - I was makeup-less |
So on to the formal review.
Most of you will now know that TRESemme launched the Split Remedy Range in September. I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch, but alas - as much as I wanted to go, professional life got in the way as it so often does.
I was very kindly offered the chance to try the range anyway and I naturally jumped at the chance. My hair is as split as the next girl who has a passion for heat styling and I love TRESemme as a brand generally.
I was provided with the Shampoo and Conditioner, RRP of £4.99 each.
And also the Serum and Leave In Treatment, RRP £5.50 each.
What you don't get to see was how silky my hair felt to touch and also the fact that it lasted 2 full days of looking sleek without needing to be washed. Definitely a positive.
So what do I think of the range? Thumbs up from me.
The Shampoo and Conditioner smell lovely and my hair instantly feels softer. Lathering up is easy and the products rinse out easily.
In relation to the serum and leave-in treatment - I used these both. I firstly applied a little leave in conditioner (one pump only) and then some serum (one pump also). I could feel the product on my hair at this point - but no more than any other products I use.
One thing I did notice was that my hair stayed wetter longer, which meant it took longer to dry with my hairdryer. It didn't make it anymore difficult to dry though like some products can i.e. it didn't leave my brush dragging through my hair or anything.
Once it was dry though I would have left my hair as it was if it only had a bit more style. My hair was full and bouncy and the ends look so much smoother. Straightening was a doddle and took much less time than usual. Yay! When I have my hair cut back into shape I imagine I will be able to just blow dry it with a round bristle brush and leave it.
So all in all I would say these are a good product if you are looking for something to make your hair smooth and shiny. It certainly worked for me and the use of the leave in treatment and serum did not leave my hair weighed down. If in doubt use a little and build the product up is what I say!
I would guess that some of you have already had good results with this range, but if you haven't got around to trying it I would definitely recommend as it works a treat for me!

Hello ladies,
I was recently invited to an event in London to celebrate the launch of TRESemme's new NATURALS hair care collection. Unfortunately, being stuck at work in the north I was not able to attend but the lovely people sent me some products to try out anyway this week.
It was perfect timing really as I ran out of conditioner the other day and had been using a hair mask as a replacement until I get paid. So I was happy to receive a huge Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner (in addition to Naturals Weightless Volumising Mousse and Non-Aerosol Hairspray, which I will review shortly).
So of course it was only right that I share with you what my hair looked like after using the shampoo and conditioner...

I was amazed at how shiny my hair looked. Not only that though, it was much easier to style afterwards and although it's difficult to capture in photos - it was much sleeker than normal too.
When using the shampoo and conditioner I was met with the loveliest smell, very like all the other TRESemme products. When using the shampoo my hair literally was squeaky clean - which I must admit scared me at first. But after the conditioner it felt so soft I knew all would be fine and when I dried it there were no problems at all. Yay!
The NATURALS range is formulated without parabens, with lower sulphates and is silicone free. It is said to make your hair healthier and shinier whilst also leaving your strands stronger so you don't need to trade performance for natural benefits. I agree with this statement.
As many of you know - I am a lover of redken hair products having struggled with many high street brands in the past. But I have now not had my hair cut in 3 months and because my hair is naturally a "nightmare" (ie. fizzy, curly, dry, splits easily) it really was impressive that my hair still looked sleek, with no sign of nasty ends. Perhaps more amazingly, it stayed sleek and non-frizzy all day DESPITE THE RAIN AND WIND. That is UNHEARD of for my hair!
I will definitely definitely be using this to bottom of the bottle - which will be a while yet! But best of all is the shampoo only retails at £5.39 for 900ml - INSANE!

So this evening I have been a bit of a geek and took pics with a couple of the new products I have tried within the last week. This being one of them.
I was lucky enough to be sent the waterless foam and dry shampoo to try for review purposes last week and being used to dry shampoos already, I was itching to give the new waterless foam concept a go.
The product is for dry, frizz prone hair. Which mine is. I just put lots of serum on it to try and tame when wearing it straight.
I had noted that a couple of other bloggers had said the product was a little heavy for their hair so I made sure I was extra careful about application. The idea is that you apply 2-3 pumps of the product to mid length hair. I'd say my hair was around mid length but I stopped at 2 pumps, which looks like this...
For me this was plenty.
My hair looked like this prior to using the waterless foam shampoo...
YUK!!!!!!!!!!
The ends of my hair are always dry(ish)so I knew that to distribute this from the roots to the ends I wouldn't need any more. I basically ensured that the product was on both hands and then stroked it on my hair over the top layer to the ends and then the rest that was left on my hands I stroked through my hair - particularly at the hairline at the front.
The instructions suggest you should blast your hair with a hairdryer after use. I did this but with a large paddle brush so that I was also restyling my hair. Following this I straightened and voila!

Smooth looking fresh hair.
What I particularly liked was that the product did not make my hair greasy as it had with others, but it smoothed it down at the ends and made it look nice and sleek. My hair looked shiny and healthy as a result of using this and I now plan to use this instead of dry shampoo and dry shampoo leaves my hair feeling... well, dry I suppose!
I like this product because it does mean that I can freshen my hair (it smells divine) without having to wash it ALL the time. Which hopefully means that I can continue growing it and keeping it healthy rather than stripping all the oils away by washing it too much!
I would definitely recommend this product and would urge people to have a go with it because for me it worked wonders. If in doubt, I would start with less product than you think you need and build up to the required amount. If you have really fine "normal" hair then perhaps this product isn't for you. However, I don't know about you but I know plenty of girls with thick hair that would love this (one definitely being my sister), and besides - I have fine hair really, there's just quite a bit of it, so it definitely does work!
