I am starting to feel a bit better now so I thought I would ease in on a makeup remover post given that my makeup has been a bit of a mess this past week or so I have been ill.

Every now and then I like to try and find a cheaper alternative to the Lancome's Eye Makeup Remover.

I stumbled upon this one and with it being L'Oreal I thought that it might be worth a shot.

Upon reading the bottle I noted it is said it is also for sensitive eyes. Definitely applies to my permanently bloodshot allergic to EVERYTHING peepers *_*

So my thoughts??
Unfortunately this product was no use to me. Firstly it was not strong enough to remove my waterproof mascara. The texture is not oily enough which I find is definitely required to remove tough mascara. Secondly, it left my eyes sore, dry and red. The redness could be excused as I only need to open them in the morning for that to happen and also I suppose for them to feel sore. So let me put it this way - they were redder and more irritated than usual. Plus swollen when I woke up in the morning despite rinsing.

I don't think that this is a bad product as such but definitely not one suited to me. I would not recommend this to anyone with sensitive eyes because it only makes them worse. But if you don't wear a lot of eyemakeup this may be suitable for you!

Hi all!

You may recall my previous post about eyemakeup removers and my declaration of love for Lancomes. (See here)

However, I recently found another good dupe which some of you may like to try. As you will have no doubt guessed from the title it is the No7 version. I ended up trying this as it was within the free gift pack they are currently offering when you spend over £22 in store.

So what did I think??

I was very pleasantly surprised. Very few eyemakeup removers work for me and the only other cheaper one I have found is Johnsons. The No7 version works a treat and removes all traces of my waterproof thickly applied mascara. Yay.

The only downside? It leave my eyes feeling slightly irritated in the following day.

Although the formula is said to be for sensitive eyes, I don't think it means eyes as sensitive as mine (which are RIDICULOUSLY sensitive). I think most of you would be fine, but if like me you get sore swollen eyes even from the wind or air con, you would prob suffer too.

That said, it wouldn't stop me from using the product and I will be taking it with me when I stay away from home as it's in a handy travel size. But for the most part I will be sticking with Lancome's more expensive version as it is just kinder to my peepers *_*

OK, so I don't know about you, but I like to apply quite a bit of waterproof mascara daily, so over the years I have had to search high and low for a product that actually removes my makeup rather than rubbing it into my skin around my eye area.

I found two products that work a treat and after seeing one in a recent article I wanted to share them with you!

Firstly, the Bi-Facil Non Oily Instant Cleanser, by Lancome £18.50. Instyle calls this the best in their 100 Best Beauty Buys 2010 and I completely agree. It's formulated for sensitive eyes, which as you probably now know, I suffer from horrendously. This remover makes taking my eye makeup off a dream. Although why they say it is non-oily I DO NOT KNOW because it really is!! But that is the good thing, because it just breaks the mascara right down.

Secondly, is the "dupe" I have found.
Namely, Johnson's 3 in 1 Gentle Eye Makeup Remover £4.99. Again, this has an oily texture which breaks down my mascara and removes it (almost) effortlessly. Because it is gentle it is also meant to condition your eyelashes, although I find that it leave a residue that can cause my eyes to be a bit puffy if I do not remove the excess. So I remove the excess with a cotton pad covered with water and all is good.

You will note from the pictures that the oil separates from the rest of the liquid when not in use so you need to give it a little shake before use and trust me, if you have not tried it before you will be amazed at how easily your makeup comes off!!

I would recommend using the Johnson's one if you are on a budget like me. I like to have both if I can as I use the Lancome when I have been on a night out and my makeup is heavier because it is more effective and a bit gentler. However, if you are wondering which to purchase between the two I would recommend the Lancome just because although it's a little more pricey than the Johnson's its a big bottle and always lasts me ages (even if I am using it everyday).
