Errrr hello awkward pose!
Hey gorgeous people - it's late - it's sunday and I feel like showing you my gorgeous new outfit - FINALLY.

So the lovely people at Glamorous recently sent me this dress and blazer.  I must say that the blazer has been worn so many times since and I have received sooooo many compliments on it.

It is literally the perfect bold colour for summer for me - brightens up any outfit.

I've been teaming it with a beautiful white crochet top I've had for years, black maxi dress, purple see through vest (which I wore on my recent youtube vid here (<---- link) and most recently this DIVINE dress.

I really couldn't wait to show you this dress!  It is the most amazing print and so simple in shape - I know it's just going to be so versatile.  I wore this particular outfit for a family meal last night.  I wore it with black heels (sorry I couldn't get it all in and also sorry for the phone shot but the camera ones just made me look ridiculous - I looked paler than anything which is just not accurate!!)

Anyway, it's super comfy and has a concealed zip up the bag and literally doesn't know how to crease - yay for packing!! Cannot wait to wear this on holiday with my tanned legs and skinnier body!! Whoop whoop!

So Glamorous is a website on which you can purchase truly divine clothing.  I chose this dress and blazer because they are things that I would normally talk myself out of - you know bright print and bold colour. I am just too safe.

You can't go wrong though - I've trawled through their website here (<---- link) and found so many other items I will be purchasing.  This is the start of a whole new obsession for me!!

And can I just say the paisley print on the dress above can be found in the sale in the form of shorts for £10.79!!! They are AMAZING! Perfect for holiday!!

They have an absolute shed load in their sale so I am off to spend some of my money seeing as I have just been paid!!!

Oh hello highlights!

Seriously - you would think I was shaving my head with how worried I was to do this but being the crazy person I am (not) I got my at home highlighting kit by L'oreal and went for it! Go me!

Normally I go for a dark all over colour though but I wanted something lighter to try and bring out some colour or something!

So glad I did - I really like it!  I would say though that actually I wish I had put even more in around my face and might do some more soon because I really like it!

In terms of application I found this a little tricky.  You apply standard dye, rinse out after 25 mins (I did about 20 so as not to look like a goth) and then start again with a large mascara type wand and a blue mixture which is the highlighting dye.  My problem was that because my hair is curly it was so hard to get the strands I wanted to do and of course I was worried the whole time that I would end up looking ridiculous.

Next time I will be a bit more confident!
Have any of you used these?

What do you think?

So there's a lot of hype surrounding the whole Keratin thing at the moment and I must say anything that can make my hair more manageable and straighter, without doing damage interests me!

Now in terms of the whole keratin straightening I'm definitely not sure I buy it. My Mum (who has Afro Caribbean hair) had it done and she hasn't experienced much of a difference other than her hair being flatter when she styles it, which isn't a positive necessarily.

So I though that this could potentially be a happy medium and generally I like a TRESemme new range!

So I washed, conditioned and applied the spray and blow dried. First thing I found was that my hair was much harder to dry both in terms of manageability and actually becoming dry. Now don't get me wrong, having mixed hair (European and Afro) means it is always going to be a bit of work to go from curly to straight but this was a bit excessive if I'm honest. My hair was out on its ends near enough!

Despite that it still felt soft and looked pretty good when I ran the straighteners over it and with my hair being in desperate need of a trim I can't strictly blame the products solely.

So I didn't and just thought I need a trim.

Sadly though my experience didn't get any better. My hair was limp and kinky within 5 minutes of being out of the house! I couldn't believe it! And although the weather is the worst (too humid and wet) on a sunnier day I had the same problem.

So for me this isn't a product I would recommend. I'm really disappointed to say that given my hair normally loves TRESemme products I can safely say not these.

The only thing I would say is that it may work on normal and recently trimmed hair...

Have any of you tried this range? center>

So my darlings I promised you that I would fill you in on any relevant birthday gifts that I received and thought that given it's two weeks since I better get on with it!

So first in the series is the Lancome Visionnaire skin care.

I'll be honest, I hadn't actually heard of this one, but I thought that it was very fitting that I should receive the same on my 26th birthday as it aims to reduce signs of ageing, wrinkles and ages spots.  Ah, ageing.  That horrendous thing we all seek to avoid.

I should mention that this is the sample sized version - I got a lot of lancome gifts (I know I am so lucky and even luckier that my amazing Dad chose them all) and this came with.

It was one of the first things that I tried though because I love their skin care generally but only get to use it after my birthday or xmas because I don't tend to  purchase it for myself these days.

Anyway, I digress. So, what does it do?

Apparently this... Visionnaire is the 1st skincare with LR 2412, a molecule designed to penetrate throughout all the layers of the skin`s epidermis, triggering a range of micro transformations. With Visionnaire, wrinkles appear visibly reduced, pores look minimised and imperfections such as uneven skin tone appear more even, as if corrected.

Literally, I have no idea what LR 2412 is. I hope that doesn't make me a totally ignorant beauty blogger, but I'll be honest - I don't get much chance to research into these things these days!  What I am interested in though is the effects it is supposed to produce.

And it works.

I know this because I only started searching for all the jazz about what it is supposed to do after I noticed what an amazing effect it had had on my skin.  In particular I am talking pores.  Reduced pores on the cheeks and nose - which is something I can never normally achieve.

I am a very happy bunny.

The product is a pearly iridescent super lightweight cream.  It doesn't really seem to leave a sheen on the skin though.

I did find out that I had been using it wrong though - whoops!  It is meant to be for evening use but I was using it alone under my makeup!! To be quite honest, I won't be stopping that.  I know it isn't what they intended but it works wonders for my skin and makeup application so I'm keeping it up!

I would definitely recommend this although it is somewhat pricey I must say at £58!! I would say try and pick up a sample with your next Lancome purchase and go from there!

Hey ladies! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon.   I am!  I have just booked a holiday to Sensatori in Egypt - can't freaking wait because it looks like this...

And yes, I have booked a swim up room.

Hello amazing holiday destination!

Anyway... moving on to weight loss

So since starting my blog I have gained a lot of weight.  I am talking 32 lbs - which is over 2 stone if you aren't sure.  On my tiny body that's a lot and it makes me unhappy, which was making me eat more and then I am more unhappy etc etc.

So as soon as my birthday was done I started weight watchers.  So now I am following the pro points system which is a bit different to when I have done it before but so far so good.

In fact super good as I lost 6 lbs in my first week!!!

I literally could not believe it as the most I have ever lost in a week before is 3.5 lbs!!!

So now I am excited because it has given me the motivation to keep going.  I know it is only week two but if each week I can lose weight I will be happy.

I don't know if any of you are following weight watchers but I find this to be a good diet. You get a weekly as well as daily points allowance so this allows you to have treats at the weekend, or if you have a social event for example.  I've been sharing some Ben and Jerry's with the boyf for mine!

I may have also had some wine...

It seems to work though so it's a diet without feeling like you are totally starving yourself and because I am an absolute foodie that is essential to me!

Anyway, I will keep you posted with how I do but my main goal is to lose the remaining 26 lbs before I go on holiday which will take me back down to what I consider to be my normal and healthy weight.

Wish me luck!

Nike Blazer ideas

Nike Blazer ideas

I think it's time I did some blogging!  The birthday celebrations are over and I had an amazing time.  I got some fabulous gifts which I will mention in a separate post.  All I am saying is iPad and lots of Lancome...

Anyway...

I reckon there are a few of you out there considering getting some Nike Blazers - I know that I was considering it for a while before I took the plunge.

Literally, the only reason I got them was because unlike most boyfriend's mine would rather see me in trainers than heels.  He is a trainer addict through and through!

What I must say though is that I am sooooo glad that I took the plunge.  Seriously.  I haven't taken them off since I got them and they are so addictive!! I am planning my next pair(s) already and can no longer be bothered with heels at all!

I haven't worn trainers since I was like 13 unless for sport so I had definitely forgotten just how comfy they are.  My poor feet have suffered all these years without need!!

Anyway, I'm now planning my outfits around them!  And here is one I created - I have the scarf, trainers (obv), jeggins and Tiffany necklace.  I need the beanie, top and baby-g.

I am not shopping right now though.

I have started weight watchers properly again as I have gained all the weight I lost a couple of years ago and instead of kicking myself constantly about it I am doing something about it!  So shopping will be a reward for when I have lost a good chunk of weight!

No doubt there will be some weightloss associated posts coming up!

Hope you are all having a great week! x
