Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

I have been wanting to try Bobbi Brown products for a while now. Especially after receiving the Makeup Manual book off the boyf last Xmas.

So I trotted off to Selfridges after payday and decided that was the day I was going to take the plunge!

The lovely MUA did my concealer, foundation and blush so I am now colour matched. I have a sneaky list to leave lying around as a hint for Xmas hehe. I mean, needless to say I loved everything I tried.

One of the things I just couldn't leave without, however, was their Hydrating eye cream. The MUA used this prior to the concealer and I was hooked! It is literally really hydrating!!



Background:-

Some of you may recall that I have previously mentioned issues with dark dark circles under my eyes and extreme dryness if I use the wrong products.

Most recently I had been using Cellnique's Contour C Complex. I did find this to be lightly moisturising. It is very light in texture. I've also used eye creams from garnier, soap and glory and boots plus many other drugstore brands in the past.

Thoughts:-

I was shocked at the consistency as it is so much thicker than other eye creams I have used. Yet it doesn't feel greasy or heavy.

It absorbes into the skin beautifully and creates a fantastic base for my concealer. It is much better than any of the previous eye creams/gels I have used. It doesn't sit in any fine lines and ensures my makeup sits nicely too.

Info:-

It retails at £27.00. It worth every penny. My makeup looks smoother, the skin around my eyes feel softer and a little amount really goes a long way.

This product has made me rethink eye cream entirely. I believed most eye creams were pretty much the same. WRONG. It just goes to show that paying extra is really worth it with some products.

I will definitely be repurchasing this in future and all I would say is try it and you will love it!

Soap & Glory "You Won't Believe Your Eyes" Illuminating Eye Serum

Ahhhhh I love Soap & Glory products. There is just something about them that makes me feel pampered. I also love that for the most part their products don't dissapoint me.

As my early followers may recall, when I got back from NYC I was having terrible trouble with my undereyes being dry and swollen from being over tired and all the air con abuse. And of course I had left my Soap & Glory Eye Gel back in NYC so after trying a few other contenders I decided to try the Soap & Glory Eye Serum.

And what a difference.

Instantly my undereyes felt soothed and refreshed. It was like instant moisture without being oily or sticky. The product is applied with a tri-ball roller ball at the end of the tube. It seeps out slowly so you can apply as much as you like.

It is a thinner consistency than eye creams and gels and blends into the skin very nicely like so...


You can see it has a iridescent sheen to it, with a blueish undertone. Prior to buying this I had read reviews about it making peoples dark look worse if they applied too much. I apply LOADS and my undereyes are literally purple with my dark circles and I NEVER have this problem. It just makes my eyes look brighter and fresher.

I have been using this product for well over a month now and it has really moisturised my undereyes so much. They are no longer flaky or dry and the serum just soothes away any puffiness I have in the morning and any dryness from removing makeup in the evening. It is also a great base for concealer!

I will definitely be purchasing this over and over again because for £9.00 it's a bargain considering what it does for my undereyes. Go and get it now!!!

Rose & Co Apothecary's Formula Eyebright Eye Gel

If you have been following my blog for a little while you will know that I took a trip to Leeds with the boyfy a couple of weeks ago.

Whilst we were there I found a lovely boutique called Rose & Co. It had a lovely retro feeling to it and one of the ladies there was styled like a pin up girl and looked totally DIVINE! They sell cosmetics, but there was also some kitsch jewellery in the store. Their website is super cute and can be found here.

During my little peek around the shop I a little tub of eye gel. I had been used to using Soap and Glory's eye gel but I had none left so I purchased this one.

What do I think of this product?
I found it to be quite basic. Yes it went on cool and did seem to make my eyes feel a little more refreshed but I didn't notice the same reduction in puffiness that I get with Soap and Glory's.

Also, I noticed that it dried onto my skin a bit strangely. It felt like I had to blink loads and keep opening my eyes wide so the skin sorrounding my actual eyeball was not tacky. Like the feeling you get in the palm of your hands if you are using gel and forget to wash it off your hands after.

Would I repurchase?
Honestly, I probably wouldn't.
There is nothing wrong with this product at all. However, there is nothing that makes it exciting. It doesn't smell divine, it doesn't provide me with amazing results and the packaging is pretty boring. So it doesn't really tick any boxes for me.
Yeah I only paid around £5.00 for it but I don't feel like it makes any difference to the skin around my eyes.

I think the best way for me to describe my feelings towards this gel is indifferent. I don't dislike it but I don't love it either. I think in terms of eye gels I will stick to Soap and Glory's for now.
