I'm excited.

I finally purchased some NARS makeup yesterday! It's amazing how much better my day was - I forgot how good getting makeup makes me feel (I don't know if that is healthy!).

Look!!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! And yes, you guessed it the blush is "orgasm" I was determined to get a different one, but it is soooo pretty on - I get why everyone loves it!!

The lippes are a surprise and I will be swatching very shortly...

I love days when I can just put the bare minimum makeup on and run out the door. Unfortunately, on the days I need to do this I am always looking tired and therefore feel I need more makeup.

However, here's a weekend FOTD shot from when I didn't have to jump out of bed at 6am and therefore went with a softer makeup look.

I know it's so so basic but sometimes it's nice to go back to natural makeup to just add a little something without it your makeup being the focus of your look. Not all the time. But definitely on "chilled" days.

Don't you agree ladies?

Anyway, I will stop going on and let you know what I used:-

Bare Minerals Foundation
Bare Minerals Warmth
MUA blush
Lily Lolo Flawless Silk
Carmex Lip Balm
Revlon Fabulash Mascara
Lancome Pencil Liner in Black

Thanks for looking *_*

Hello ladies,

I was recently invited to an event in London to celebrate the launch of TRESemme's new NATURALS hair care collection. Unfortunately, being stuck at work in the north I was not able to attend but the lovely people sent me some products to try out anyway this week.

It was perfect timing really as I ran out of conditioner the other day and had been using a hair mask as a replacement until I get paid. So I was happy to receive a huge Naturals Nourishing Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner (in addition to Naturals Weightless Volumising Mousse and Non-Aerosol Hairspray, which I will review shortly).

So of course it was only right that I share with you what my hair looked like after using the shampoo and conditioner...

I was amazed at how shiny my hair looked. Not only that though, it was much easier to style afterwards and although it's difficult to capture in photos - it was much sleeker than normal too.

When using the shampoo and conditioner I was met with the loveliest smell, very like all the other TRESemme products. When using the shampoo my hair literally was squeaky clean - which I must admit scared me at first. But after the conditioner it felt so soft I knew all would be fine and when I dried it there were no problems at all. Yay!

The NATURALS range is formulated without parabens, with lower sulphates and is silicone free. It is said to make your hair healthier and shinier whilst also leaving your strands stronger so you don't need to trade performance for natural benefits. I agree with this statement.

As many of you know - I am a lover of redken hair products having struggled with many high street brands in the past. But I have now not had my hair cut in 3 months and because my hair is naturally a "nightmare" (ie. fizzy, curly, dry, splits easily) it really was impressive that my hair still looked sleek, with no sign of nasty ends. Perhaps more amazingly, it stayed sleek and non-frizzy all day DESPITE THE RAIN AND WIND. That is UNHEARD of for my hair!

I will definitely definitely be using this to bottom of the bottle - which will be a while yet! But best of all is the shampoo only retails at £5.39 for 900ml - INSANE!

The power a perfume can hold. It can make us feel pretty, special, happy, fresh. It can brighten a girl up on an tiring day.

Not surprising then that I felt full of glee when I arrived home from my nasty commute on Tuesday to find this beauty waiting for me...

The beautifully girlie, crystalised, shiny number is Britney Spears' latest perfume "Radiance" which has only just launched! How divine is the bottle!? It's a girlie girl's dressing table dream!

So like any girl would I immediately spritzed and oh my - I was in perfumey heaven!

Radiance is described as A sensual white floral, radiance BRITNEY SPEARS™ truly shines with top notes of luscious wild berries and soft dewy petals entice and beguile. In the radiant heart, a pure white bouquet of tuberose, jasmine, orange flower and iris exudes unforgettable femininity. All this wrapped in captivating cashmere woods, luminous amber with the sensual glow of musk. Discover what its like to shine brightly with radiance BRITNEY SPEARS™.

There is a sweet, floral scent when Radiance is first sprayed, but not the sickly sweet you can get with some perfumes. After a few moments you are met with a hint of musk. It's very different to her early perfumes, which I always founda a teeeeny bit too sweet. Radiance is more wearable and definitely more grown up, which I like because I know lots of girls who have been using Britney's perfumes for years and believe that this scent provides for the transition from teen to adult.

What I really like is that because it is eau de parfum I spray it in the morning and can still smell it throughout the day. It's not overpowering, just a subtle scent that lingers with you.

Without a doubt it is the perfect present for a girlie who already likes Britney Spears' previous perfumes, as it is still very feminine. Perhaps more surprisingly though, for those of you that tend to stick to more muted perfumes, I would definitely urge you to have a look (and a sniff) at this. You should be pleasantly surprised. And at £28 for 50ml it's a super bargain.

If you fancy smelling delish too you can get yourself a bottle here. I know I will be buying when I run out(which given my addiction to it already will probably be quite soon!).

Seeing as I haven't done one of these for a while I thought I would ease you all back into my usual posting by showing you a FOTD I did recently.

Admittedly the look was a little rushed on a Saturday morning, but the idea was that I'd go with a purple theme...

(I think it's a bit clearer when you click on the piccies and zoom!!)

Sorry about the intense stare!
Getting used to doing the job I went through 5 years of studying to obtain...

Learning to commute...

Driving my first ever car!!! A lovely citreon c1 cool...

Going to bed early to get some zzzzzzzzz...

Eating sushi...

Which should hopefully further explain my lack of postin - however I have a couple of beauty related posts up my sleeve (yay!) particularly with reference to making my makeup last all day! Getting up at 5.45am has meant I look like an oil slick by midday!!!

Write soon beauties xxxxxxxx

Wednesday 8 September 2010

Hey there! Happy Wednesday!

Ok so a couple of you lovely girlies mentioned that you liked the dress/top I was wearing on my most recent FOTN post.

I thought I'd show you it properly so brace yourself for another slightly blurry pic (I will learn how to do this with my camera!)

Maybe not the most flattering outfit given my height and shape, but I'm over it because as you an imagine, it was THE most comfortable outfit I've ever wore on a night out!!

Thoughts!? Any of you go for comfort rather than erm... a more structured "figure hugging" outfit?

Hi all!

You may recall my previous post about eyemakeup removers and my declaration of love for Lancomes. (See here)

However, I recently found another good dupe which some of you may like to try. As you will have no doubt guessed from the title it is the No7 version. I ended up trying this as it was within the free gift pack they are currently offering when you spend over £22 in store.

So what did I think??

I was very pleasantly surprised. Very few eyemakeup removers work for me and the only other cheaper one I have found is Johnsons. The No7 version works a treat and removes all traces of my waterproof thickly applied mascara. Yay.

The only downside? It leave my eyes feeling slightly irritated in the following day.

Although the formula is said to be for sensitive eyes, I don't think it means eyes as sensitive as mine (which are RIDICULOUSLY sensitive). I think most of you would be fine, but if like me you get sore swollen eyes even from the wind or air con, you would prob suffer too.

That said, it wouldn't stop me from using the product and I will be taking it with me when I stay away from home as it's in a handy travel size. But for the most part I will be sticking with Lancome's more expensive version as it is just kinder to my peepers *_*

Sunday 5 September 2010

So I went out for a few drinkies last weekend in between my hectic weeks away from home.

As most of my belongings were in a suitcase however it was difficult to find inspiration for my makeup.

This is what I ended up with...

It ended up almost looking a bit gothic at one point, but in a way I didn't mind. Dark eyes and dark lips. I don't normally wear such a look so I enjoyed it for a change.

I used:-

No7 All Day Perfection in New Ivory (too light) with Estee Lauder Double Wear over the top.

Nars Super Orgasm Blush as a highlighter (I borrowed this from my sister and was suprised how glittery it was! I still liked it though)
Coastal Scents coral shade blush
Bare Minerals Warmth Bronzer

MUA lipstick shade 11

Revlon Fabulash Mascara
Lancome Liquid Black Eyeliner
Black Eyeshadow from Circus Sleek Palette
Mixture of browns and golds from Costal Scents Warm 88 Palette
Happy Sunday Lovelies!

How are you all?

I've been super busy recently as I started a new job which has involved me spending two weeks away from home on training etc! I am TIRED!

On that note I wanted to say a big WELCOME to all my new followers that have joined the site whilst I have been M.I.A. And I also wanted to say THANK YOU to all my previous followers that have stuck with me despite my recent lack of posts.

Normal posting will resume!

Anyway, as I am now back at home I am posting to show you how pretty my nails looked while I was away thanks to Nailene...

(This was them before)

Yikes!

The nails I purchased were the petite length version as I didn't want them to look too "fake". I was really pleased with how easy they were to apply because none of them needed filing down at the sides apart from my little finger nails, and the glue took to my nails perfectly meaning they stayed put for a week without any issues.

The only downside I suppose is that realy they only last a week. I paid around £7 for these and expected them to last no longer than a week. However, if I wanted nails like this all the time the upkeep would be a bit pricey! And although you can just glue them back on once they start "pinging" off they don't look as fresh after a week so I don't bother.

Overall I would say that they are perfect for when you want a quick fix for neat looking nails. I would definitely repurchase and use them for attending weddings and such like!

Anyone else use these or something similar??
